Guba na Nature Refuge
Приєднався 14 чер 2016
We have 2 properties in south-east Queensland Australia, which we purchased for the sole purpose of flora and fauna conservation.
One property is 400 acres, located 10km west of Leyburn, Queensland Australia. This property is comprised entirely of old growth native scrub on sand soil. Our only objective with this property is to retain the native bushland and to protect it from feral animals and weed invasion.
The other property is 80 acres, and includes some riparian areas on the Thanes Creek 10km east of Leyburn. This property is severely degraded, having been cleared and grazed in a thoroughly irresponsible manner. We have our work cut out restoring this property to environmental value.
This channel is comprised of still photos and videos of wildlife observed on these properties near Leyburn, Queensland Australia.

Delightful Dingos
Dingos are a complex subject, steeped in emotive language and divisive opinions. We allow dingos to go unmolested on our property, because otherwise the kangaroo mobs graze out young trees before they have a chance and when the dingos are around, the foxes are noticeably absent: infra-red cameras tell the tale.

New water point - birds only
Переглядів 1,5 тис.8 місяців тому
This season is coming in hot ad dry, with early fires and an El Niño climate pattern. In response we have set up a raised watering point just for birds - in theory anyway. We'll see how that turns out. These are a couple of captures from the first camera card collected from the new site.
Leucistic Wallaby
Переглядів 2,1 тис.10 місяців тому
This lovely wild female black-striped wallaby (Notamacropus dorsalis) has a rare, natural hereditary condition called leucism - a partial loss of pigmentation which results in animals having white, mottled, or pale fur (or plumage if they are a bird, or scales if they are a reptile). Unlike albinism, leucism does not effect animals' eyes - her underlying skin and eyes remain dark coloured, and ...
Vale Ross

With immense sadness we advise that Ross has passed peacefully at his Queensland home, with faithful feline companion Pebbles on his lap, and his wife at his side. Ross defied all prognoses to achieve 10 years of cancer survivorship; time which enabled him to see his children grow to adulthood, and enjoy a life well lived. Clear skies and light winds, Ross. You are profoundly missed.
Where have we gone?

What to say here? Well, I guess the universe has decided that 'we' is soon to become 'me', as an aggressive brain tumour brings to an end a wonderful era, an enduring marriage, and a life well lived. These are the dark days that mark the end of the cancer journey, and all of my time is currently wrapped around my partner. Thank you for your understanding.

aridrecovery.org.au/ @aridrecovery9335 With thanks to cameraman Connor Footage of greater bilbies (Macrotis lagotis) at Arid Recovery Wildlife Reserve. Bilbies were once widespread across 70 per cent of mainland Australia. They were well known around Adelaide, especially in the city parklands, and were also recorded as living around Perth. By 1995 the bilby was classed as a threatened species, ...

Safe and warm in winter
Переглядів 4,1 тис.Рік тому
It's only 4C, but this little Queenslander is feeling safe and warm in his winter woollies. Black-striped wallabies (Notamacropus dorsalis) are my favourite macropods. - shy and elusive, they have a preference for forested country with dense under story - which perfectly describes this refuge. Black-striped wallabies are all but gone from their former habitat in New South Wales, and are also di...

Crows gotta get their forbidden Mentos
0:31 😅
Is that snake over there?
Love the "FAQ Please read"!
crows are awesome
These videos have been my guilty pleasure for 4 years now 😊
1st one was a real treat! it being that size, wonder how long had it been on the wallaby.
I come back to these vids every now n then. You would think they could scratch some of the ticks off themselves. They have hands. (Edit) finally came around to watch part 3. Yeah those ticks are latched on HARD.. damn
Nature is amazing
It’s almost like they have a silent language
Its like peaches growing on trees for Crows. These animals are literal fruit trees to Crows.
I really hate ticks.
Interesting to see the birds going at a steady pace and taking turns, so they don’t freak out the wallaby. I don’t know if it’s empathy or just strategy (maybe both)?
Can we get them to remove Tik-toks too?
I’m itching
I watched a show recently that demonstrated that Ravens were the only birds who were able to figure out how to get a small piece of meat out of an open ended glass tube by using a twig to poke it out of the other end of the tube. None of the other birds tested were able to figure it out. Only the ravens were able to get the food out of the tube.
I watched it a several times in span of last few days.. I've seen tens of nature docu series but have never seen crow in it, they should cover this simple but majestic animal sometimes.
My goodness, ive never seen ticks that big before. Poor guy.
only a person with half a brain would use a black pale in a country where it's summer 24/7 and sunny all the time. *how to have all your water EVAPORATE QUICKLY* use anything black so it soakes up heat and light
I saw a moose in the forest and half its body was covered in ticks. it's too bad life always has to suffer
Thanks
Cleaners services
Thanks Crows
The Doctor
Thanks Crows
Good boys
Super
Love Crows
The crows are real heros.
Bee's or wasps drink water?
In this kind of heat, the bees need to transport a large quantity of water to the hive to cool the brood
It's like the world's in perfect equilibrium right now, at this point in history, besides humans.
I wonder if the Wallabies understand that the crows are doing them a favor by removing the ticks, since they don't seem as compliant with the cleaner as many other animals, even though having ticks removed must hurt a lot. Also, the ears after having the ticks removed is quite sickening to look at.
Nobody gon talk abt the blood on the camera at the end?
mmmmm ticks.
damn these birds look amazing with their blue eyes and black feather and they are huge too
Wonder if Scottish wallabies have this relationship with crows here, do they share irn-bru 🤔
Grabbed the huge one first lol. Bruh was hungry
Pongan mas vudeos como estos me gustan mucgo los veo cada poco los tengo guardados
Those ticks look like they be sucking Dracula himself...damn
ı would watch for hours. ıts better than a good film. why didt they keep on making same style videos? (and longer)
So cute.
Please we need a parts 6-10 more and more.
Those ticks r huge
Só eu fiquei com fome vendo isso?
Wild how the wallabee can be bleeding form several dozen headwounds and still look so much better. Ticks are the worst.
Do the crows seem smarter than the wallabies? The wallabies don't seem to get why the crows are there .
These videos are hypnotic in a strange way! I'm wondering if the water in the containers are filled by a person or is pumped from the ground or collected as it rains? Seems kinda aired there? Dig the video
Hello Michael, thank you you for watching and sharing your thoughts. The water is transported there from about 100km away. This footage was actually filmed in a creek bed- there should be 1-2 metres of water in this exact location, but it was a terrible drought.
Im gagging.. like literally
More of dis pls
Anyone else gets goosebumps watching this
These videos get the tick of approval.
